Sometimes someone may require specialized boat towing for instance after a vessel has caught fire and severally damaged or even sank and has to be re floated and towed. Most times the company awarded the contract for salvage also does the towing however in the video below we only did the towing after being hied by Insurance and another commercial salvage company who was located closer to the casualty completed the salvage re-floating aspect. Below is the video of a vessel being towed after it was completed engulfed in fire and damaged beyond repair, it was patched pumped and reported to be floating when we showed up to tow it away on its 60 mile journey southbound. Our crews can undergo make shift patching to insure safe transit while in tow. This particular one that process was completed by the prior salvage company. Utilizing wood and epoxy to close wholes from being exposed to water egressing into the hull in turn which would sink the vessel while it’s in tow. When a vessel is damaged by fire most cases its no longer repairable its a wreck removal and or sold for parts or its main engines and now then task becomes to remove and dispose of it is known as wreck removal. Wreck removal is the process of removal all or parts of the vessel for disposal and or removal from the water for fire investigation to determine the cause of the fire for the insurance company.

Downrite Marine Towing

A boat sinks at the dock due to heavy rains or a dead battery other times it can be a list of maintenance items that fail like a thru hull fitting or a water supply hose from a bait well. Boat designed with self bailing floors when experience more than normal heavy rains in South Florida and that can spell disaster for a small boat if the bilge pump is to small to keep up with the water coming into the hull in turns weights it down by there stern where the heavy motor is once it reaches that point it will sink.
